Community College Consortia

Kennebec Valley Community College has been selected to participate in a nationwide effort to educate health care and Information Technology professionals in the latest electronic health record-keeping systems (EHR) in order to improve health care and lower costs.

We offer two non-credit Professional Certificates which take six months to complete. The programs are mostly online with some live class time. They are:

  • EHR Consultant

  • EHR Engineer

These programs are intensive and best suited for those able to commit 5-15 hours of work per week.

Given grant funding, the cost of the program will be $300 and is available to Mainers with a background in Health Care or Information Technology. Scholarships are available.

American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) funding for the effort is being provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) under the direction of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).
