ONC Applauds KVCC's First EHR Graduates

Kennebec Valley Community College
has been selected to participate in a nationwide effort
to educate health care and Information Technology
professionals in the latest electronic health
record-keeping systems (EHR) in order to improve health
care and lower costs.
We offer two non-credit Professional Certificates which
take six months to complete. The programs are mostly
online with some live class time. They are:
- EHR Consultant
- EHR Engineer
These programs are intensive and best suited for those
able to commit 5-15 hours of work per week.
Given grant funding, the cost of the program will be
$300 and is available to Mainers with a background in
Health Care or Information Technology. Scholarships are
available.
American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) funding
for the effort is being provided by the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services (DHHS) under the direction
of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health
Information Technology (ONC).
