Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) is offering a "Late Start" 12-week mini session beginning September 28 for current and prospective students.

About a dozen general education, high-demand courses are being offered in this compact “Late-Start” schedule.

“Our fall semester high-demand courses filled up quickly,” said Karen Normandin, Dean of Student Affairs. “We want to serve the community so our faculty and staff worked together to create this schedule. We urge people to register soon because these classes will also fill quickly.”

The courses are online and classroom-based and can be applied to KVCC degree programs, and transferred to other colleges and universities. They offer an ideal opportunity for students pursuing four-year degrees to earn credits toward those degrees while taking advantage of KVCC’s low tuition rate of just $90 per credit hour.

“These courses are ideal for high school students who want to take college classes and those who are thinking about returning to school,” said Dean Normandin.

The courses offered were chosen based on high demand and some are being provided online to increase the convenience for students.

The Late Start session will end December 13.

This farm is a work in progress.

We'll do our best not to bore you, but we're going to talk numbers. We're going to talk about how we make decisions, about what worked, and more importantly, what didn't work. We hope we can be a resource for students and farmers, for skeptics and city-folk alike; anyone, really, interested in what it looks like to build a farm from scratch.
