The TRiO Projects were created in 1965 as part of the Higher Education Act. Congress established these
programs in order to provide educational opportunity to all Americans, regardless of race, ethnic background
or economic circumstances.
What began as three programs in 1965 has grown to include several additional programs. Each TRiO
Project has the same goal - access to education! Since that day in 1965, TRiO
Projects have been helping students
to not only enter college, but to successfully complete college or transfer to a 4-year institution.
Our particular TRiO Project is known as a Student Support Services program and has been a part of the KVCC
Community since 1993. We have provided services to hundreds of students and look forward to meeting you!
