Katherine Cresswell | VEGETABLE PRODUCTION MANAGER

Katherine has been managing vegetable farms in Maine since 2005.  She completed her BA in Environmental Studies at Bates College, and then went on to manage the organic farm at Bowdoin College for 6 years. From 2011 to 2013 she completed an internship in small woodlot management, saw milling, and wood working while also launching her own mobile wood fired pizza business on the Blue Hill peninsula.  Katherine is excited to create and manage the vegetable production at the Farm at KVCC and work with an accomplished team to promote a viable rural livelihood in central Maine.  In addition to farming, Katherine devotes time to training for and competing in triathlons, going on extended adventures on both bike and foot in the mountains, and baking bread.  She is currently immersed in developing a moveable high tunnel plan for maximum production of tomatoes and winter greens, and season extension for marketable produce year round.

Sibongile Sithe | LIVESTOCK MANAGER

Sibongile (Bongi) Sithe began farming in 2010 as a Student Farm Manager at the Yale Sustainable Food Project. After graduating in 2011 with a BA in English, she worked for DC Greens in Washington DC, apprenticed for BADSEED Farm and Market in Kansas City, MO, and spent a year studying livestock management at The Farm School in Athol, MA. Bongi is a data enthusiast and is excited to tracking feed conversion, grass-growth, weight gains, and other metrics throughout the season. When not in the field, Bongi spends her time reading, watching "dark dramas based on contemporary literature," and attempting to make a perfectly clear stock.
