KVCC Foundation Scholarship Funds

Kennebec Valley Community College Foundation Scholarship Funds


Did you know that over 300 students were empowered to enroll in KVCC programs and courses last year knowing that many generous supporters believed in them? Collectively, the KVCC Foundation awards more than $180,000 in scholarships annually; funds which significantly reduce the financial burden of college enrollment.


One application determines if you are eligilble for more than 30 scholarship funds.


KVCC Foundation and Maine Community College System Scholarship Recipients:


  • must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA,
  • must be matriculated in a KVCC degree or certificate program,
  • must  be registered in at least six credits in the semester of award (3 credits summer),
  • must demonstrate unmet financial need as determined by the KVCC financial aid process (federal FAFSA methodology), preference may be given to students who are not eligible for grant aid (such as Pell or Maine State Grant),
  • will be selected beginning early in the fall semester and on a continuing basis as funds remain available,
  • will be notified of a scholarship award by email sent to their KVCC address (check your email often),
  • must submit a signed and proof-read thank you letter and consent to release form, instructions and a due date will be emailed with scholarship award letters.


Maine Community College System Child Care Scholarship Recipients:


  • may be enrolled in a credit or non-credit course leading to a credential,
  • may be enrolled full- or part-time,
  • must be a Maine resident,
  • must have unmet need determined by the FAFSA,
  • must be in good academic standing with satisfactory academic progress, a minimum 2.5 GPA may be required,
  • must have a child enrolled with a licensed childcare provider, or with a friend or family member who does not reside in the same household


Fall semester priority consideration will be given to students that complete a scholarship application prior to August 15th. Initial fall semester scholarship awards will be announced by September 15th.

KVCC Foundation Scholarships are not automatically renewed.

You must re-apply each year.


There is a separate application for the academic year and the summer semester.

The summer application period will open on

March 1, 2019 and close on May 15, 2019

for the 2019 summer semester.



Summer scholarships are typically only available to students with unmet financial need (determined by FAFSA) who do not have a summer Pell Grant sufficient to fund summer tuition and fees.

Summer text book scholarships are offered occasionaly on a funds available basis.

Augusta Kiwanis Club Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students


Recipients must reside in one of the communities served by Augusta Kiwanis, must have had a hiatus of at least one year between high school and the start of college, must have earned at least a 2.5 GPA after one semester of work at KVCC, and must demonstrate a personal commitment to the Kiwanis goal of service.
