Program Description:
The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) at SMCC welcomes all MCCS student interested in enhancing student leadership through self-exploration and skill development. The program strives to strengthen students’ networks, enhance educational experiences, and prepare students for a variety of roles both at the college and in the community.
As a result of the successful completion of the Emerging Leaders Program at SMCC, students will receive:
Certificate of Completion
Two Sessions Options for Spring 2021:
Mondays 1pm-2pm Online (Starts 2/8/21 and runs until 3/8/21)
Thursdays 11am-12pm Online (Starts 2/11/21 and runs until 3/11/21)
Program Objectives:
As a result of participating in the Emerging Leaders Program at SMCC, students will be able to:
Identify their own personal why as a leader and their values, strengths and weaknesses
Describe how they can model the way for others as a student leader at KVCC and beyond
Articulate a process in which they can run effective meetings
Identify ways they can delegate tasks as a leader
Develop SMARTER goals for themselves and teams
Certificate Requirement:
Sessions are open to all students to attend individually. Those who wish to receive a certificate of completion must complete all 5 of the Zoom Sessions. Successful completion of a session will involve your attendance as well as the completion of the activities and assigned reflections.
